medical, dental, vision and retirement benefits. JOB SUMMARY AND
PURPOSE The Accountant III (Supervisor), leads assigned accounting
staff efforts to provide financial information by preparing
reports, maintaining accounting records and general Ledger and
analyzing accounts and program expenditures. Oversees accounting
services provided to Program Managers and Corporate Leadership. The
position requires a combination of oversight duties and ?hands-on?
accounting work. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Leads assigned
Accounting staff, oversees work of subordinate Accountant(s) for
accuracy, prior to final submission of reports, filings or
analyses; spot checks data entry; provides experience in financial
analysis. Mentors junior accountant(s), leads in the professional
development of Accounting Department, both with regards to grant
accounting, but also with regards to public accounting in general.
Maintains accounting data for multiple programs (some with multiple
grants) while managing varying grant requirements Prepares journal
entries, worksheets, and financial reports using automated as well
as hands-on accounting practices following Generally Accepted
Accounting Principles (GAAP) Approves AP vouchers and codes
expenses and charges Analyzes general ledger account and program
financial situation Prepares monthly billing and Drawdown Maintains
Accounting controls by following policies and procedures complying
with Federal, state and local financial requirement Corrects errors
by posting adjusting entries in Great Plain Accounting software
Prepares monthly, quarterly, yearly closeout reports for funders
Maintains accounts and performs complex balance reconciliation
Provides financial analyses and supports Program budget preparation
Creates program and corporate budgets Analyzes program budget vs.
actual expenditures, and provides those analyses to program
management to help them make operational changes Monitors program
actual expenditures and compare to budget and works with program
management to align actual expenses to budget Prepares billings and
financial reports to grantor (monthly, quarterly and annually)
Works with Program staff with various levels of accounting
knowledge, to provide financial support to assigned programs, and
to ensure that accounting policies are followed Other tasks as
assigned ESSENTIAL DUTIES: An essential function of this position
requires incumbents to report to the office. Maintains accounting
data for multiple programs Provides financial analyses and
participating in budget preparation Preparing billings and
financial reports to grantor (monthly, quarterly and annually)
Trains new or junior accountants on management of grant accounting.
Other duties as required and is subject to change at any time.

to proper authorities. Qualifications REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to
pass a fingerprint clearance, background check, including criminal
history, personal references, employment and education
verifications Ability to perform under circumstances of possible
emotional stress and conflicts dealing with difficult,
uncooperative, and potentially aggressive clients as VOALA serves
the neediest of the needy in our programs which may include clients
with homelessness, mental-illness, substance abuse, recently
released from incarceration and other challenges. EDUCATION:
Bachelor?s degree EXPERIENCE: 5 years of general accounting
experience 4 years of experience working in public or large
publicly funded non-profit organization 1 year of experience
leading accounting and/or audit projects and/or staff; coaching and
mentoring junior accountants ? with demonstrated problem solving
experience PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor?s in finance,
business or accounting Grant and Funder accounting, including
preparing for Funder audits Preferred Strong skill with Great Plain
