Technician Job Description The Marine Electrician will play a
crucial role in supporting the Field Installation Services
organization aboard US Navy ships. This position entails the
installation, termination, and testing of fiber optic and copper
cable assemblies essential for various ship services, including
power, communication, telephone, and alarm systems.
Responsibilities Install, tag, and band fiber optic and copper
cables on various classes of surface and submarine Naval Vessels.
Perform all duties required to layout, fabricate, and install
electrical wiring, coaxial cable, waveguides, or fiber optic cable
aboard Navy vessels. Troubleshoot and test fiber and copper cables
and circuits. Execute tasks as a shipboard or airframe electrician
with minimal supervision. Read and interpret drawings,
specifications, technical manuals, and design notices. Use tools of
the trade such as multi-meters, pin crimpers, soldering irons, and
accomplish complex tasks related to electrical installation.
Familiarity with basic computer skills and MS-Office programs
including Word and Excel. Essential Skills Good communication
skills, both written and verbal. Ability to work from customer
drawings and a keen attention to detail. Experience and
certification with multi-pin copper connectors. Minimum of 3-5
years of relevant experience working in ship repair onboard US Navy
ships (technical education may substitute for a portion of the
experience). Additional Skills & Qualifications DBIDS eligibility
is required. Multi-pin connector and cableway and/or cable handling
certification is highly preferred. Former Navy experience as an
Electronics Technician (ET), Information Systems Technician (IC),
Aviation Maintenance (AT), and/or Electrician's Mate (EM) is ideal.

Environment The work will be performed at CMSD aboard the USS PEARL
HARBOR (LSD-52). This role may require overtime, including
weekends, and travel for extended periods. Job Type & Location This
is a Contract to Hire position based out of National City, CA. Pay
and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $40.00/hr.
