Summary•\tThis job focuses primarily on the processing of grapes
into wine. All aspects of the winemaking process will be learned
and practiced, from receiving grapes right off the vine to bottling
and labeling, and everything in between. Join us in a face paced
and fun work environment!Work Style•\tThis job requires being
responsible and dependable, being careful about detail and thorough
in completing work tasks, and a willingness to take on
responsibilities and challenges.Tasks/Responsibilities •\tSet up,
adjust and operate winery equipment safely and correctly, including
pumps, presses, de-stemmers, shaker tables, filters, forklifts, bin
dumper, bottling line, labeling machine and any other winery
equipment.•\tPerform basic cellar operations safely and correctly,
including racking, topping, barrel filling, transferring wine,
making additions to wine, punch-downs, pump-overs, packing wine
boxes, cleaning and any other duties and responsibilities as
required to meet production goals. •\tWeigh and/or measure out and
safely and correctly handle winery chemicals including tartaric,
malic and citric acids, potassium meta-bisulfite, yeast, nutrients,
tannins, dry ice and other winery additive and/or sanitation
chemicals. •\tCollect samples of materials or products for
laboratory analysis. •\tClean and/or sanitize tanks, hoses, winery
equipment and barrels, including all areas of production with
appropriate chemicals and at the appropriate water temperature.
•\tCommunicate processing instructions to other workers where
applicable. •\tPack bottles into cartons or crates, using machines
or by hand. •\tBe able to bend, climb stairs and/or ladders and
lift 50 pounds repeatedly using proper form to avoid injury.
Schedule •\tHarvest schedule requires employee to be available to
work 5-6 days per week. •\tHours of operation are 7:00am until
3:30pm (normal operating hours) and often times during harvest we
end the day closer to 5:00pm. •\tPlenty of overtime hours
available. 15.00 - 17.00
