Job Description Kinetic has partnered Thriving Manufacturer of commercial and industrial electronics. Our client has an opportunity available for a Engineering Technician. Please submit your resume for immediate consideration. Pay: $52,000 Annually Schedule: 1st Shift Mon-Fri Essential Functions of the Job: Focus, communicate, encourage, and contribute to the mission in all aspects of the job and all company meetings.
Perform alpha and numeric data entry operations into ERP system. Include setting up new part numbers, changes to BOMs, corrections, additions, new product releases, etc. Checks and verifies compliance with engineering standards.
Communicate effectively with other departments any Engineering or Production issues. Files, copies, and distributes ECRs and ECNs (Engineering Change Requests and Engineering Change Notices) to appropriate departments/personnel for notification of important changes to drawings, parts, structures, and new product releases.
Will type, edit/revise and distribute letters, memos, test reports, and engineering change notices (ECNs) on computer using Microsoft Word and Excel software programs.
Maintain Competitor Cross Reference List in Excel.
Receives, sort and distribute drawings, reports, and documents both in house and externally to/from other company facilities as requested.
Builds transformer and inductor samples for customer approval per engineering drawings.
Performs engineering tests (electrical, mechanical, environmental, etc).
Receives revised drawings from factory and forwards to cognizant engineer for review before storing them in their designated location.
Maintains sample inventory log.
Assist in new product design development Documents sample build process and collaborates in the creation of work instructions.
Use of general lab test equipment such as oscilloscope, power analyzer, hipot, etc Participates in continuous improvement activities.
Collaborates with Quality Department in failure analysis.
Helps keep lab organized Attend weekly engineering department meetings All other duties as assigned by Manager. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA's): Must be proficient in Microsoft Office systems (Excel, Word, Powerpoint, etc.) Knowledge of Solidworks preferred Self-driven Good organizational skills.
Have experience using test equipment such as oscilloscope, DC resistance meter, multi-meter, hipot equipment, soldering irons, calipers, etc.
Mechanical aptitude and understanding of mechanical/engineering vocabulary and engineering drawings helpful; specially how it relates to magnetics, i.e., transformers, inductors, etc.
Good communication skills, both verbal and written. Good grammar usage. Able to compose correspondence including letters, emails, memos, and reports.
Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Able to work and contribute to a team environment.
Able to work overtime to complete assignments as required.
Able to lift minimum 40 lbs. Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED certificate required. Technical college degree preferred. Working Conditions: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Some time on the production floor required. Frequent sitting for extended periods; estimated to be 80% of time. Standing and walking estimated to be 20% of time with use of stairs.
